Hello from a noob

I'm really a noob.  I'm so new, I don't even have my Kindle Fire yet!  I am getting one for Mother's Day, but I'm trying to find some good places for information.  A web search brought me here.

I am very computer savvy, but everything I've seen so far has be totally baffled.  I will plug along and we'll see how it goes. 

I have owned 2 Sony ereaders.  The first was one of the original, all push button models.  Then they came out with the touch screen version and I have had that for about 4 years.  It's getting a little worse for wear as I use it so much for reading.  The right bottom corner is quite temperamental and sometimes I have a hard time getting the page to turn.  I've been happy with it, but it's time for something new.  Thus my decision to upgrade to a Kindle Fire. 

I will try not to be too ignorant in my questions, but I'm sure I'll fail.
